"We live in a polyester world; not much cotton and artificial materials can't soak up the sweat upon our brows."
I taught my children their worth long before they ventured out into the world of men. Based on my calculation, if they allowed someone else to devalue them, it was because they desired it, regardless of their worth to me.
Now, should I judge them for their decisions? I think not because everyone has the right to decide who they think they are and desire to be. Who am I to put a worth on them, like they are products to be sold to the highest bidder? No one can value one's quality except themselves.
I taught my children that polyester might look smooth and wear well, but if it hangs on your body briefly, even the thinnest material in winter will make you funky. So, I introduced them to cotton and white towels to teach them how to breathe, even when the air is crisp. No dye was necessary, as their beautiful skin tones complimented the white cotton.
Now that I am old, to live a happy ending, I recall the teachings of my youth; how to breathe.
